The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has detained one Eric Asare in conjunction with the murder of Stephen Entsi in the Central Region’s Opeikuma junction.
At the Opeikuma bus stand, the 45-year-old businessman was robbed and shot to death.
According to reports, the deceased was assaulted by two men riding a black motorcycle at the Opeikuma Junction traffic signal.
Central Regional Police Commander DCOP Habiba Twumasi Sarpong informed the media that the perpetrator was detained at Gomoa Buduburam following a tip-off.
She mentioned that the defendant was detained at 3:00 a.m. on Monday and would appear in custody.
As such, DCOP Habiba Twumasi announced that her team would beef up protection in Kasoa and Gomoa East in order to put an end to illegal activity in the region.
Although according to her, the police also implemented many initiatives, including increased visibility, snap checks, and tent installation in different neighbourhoods.
She noted that the police department appreciates the public’s help in providing evidence that assists officers in apprehending suspects.
She said that effective cooperation between law-abiding citizens and law enforcement authorities would contribute to the enhancement of people’s security and, eventually, their partnership.
